[detaljnije] KoMA (KOncerti Mladih Autora / Young Authors’ Concerts)
is a project initiated in 2004 and developed by group of undergraduate students of composition of Faculty of Music, Belgrade, representing an attempt to promote new music of the youngest generation of composers. The esthetic position of the Festival - combining inherited classical tradition with some popular music genres, new technologies and performative practices, serves both as a response to leading trends in European new music scene and as a way to attract younger audiences to concert venues. After its initial success, KoMA became an annual event held in December. The Festival is supported by FoM Belgrade, Republic of Serbia Ministry of Culture, City of Belgrade Secretariat for Culture and SOKOJ. Founders and organisers of first editions of KoMA were two young composers, Ana Gnjatović and Milica Djordjević, at the time undergraduate students of FoM Belgrade. In 2007, Milica Djordjević continues her studies outside of Serbia, and Ana Gnjatović remains the in the organisation team of KoMA Festival, with a lot of help from her friends, colleagues, professors and FoM staff. ![]() The first concert I (co)organised. A group of us, undergraduate composers, just wanted a chance to do something public and to present ourselves outside the Faculty. Eventually, in March 2004, with enormous enthusiasm and a lot of help from our friends musicians & great people from SKC Belgrade, we organised our first concert we named izvodimo se (which meant both - we are performing our music i.e. acting out, and we are taking us / our music outside). ![]() It was an amazing experience - do it all yourself kind of project and we participated as composers, performers, organisers, managers, technicians... The concert went really great and it turned out to be just the right thing, so we did it again next year, and then again, and again... Moreover, it was a sort of a trigger for quite a number of group projects that followed. For this concert, we had music by Ana Gnjatović, Teodora Stepančić, Draško Adžić, Dragan Latinčić, Vlado Paunović & myself |
